Good Morning London & BIG BEN
London England My Home and My First Love
Living in Thailand is amazing but there is always something special about going back home to England, and whenever we go back, we love to stay at park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London
Its situated opposite Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament,The London Eye and London Aquarium, so you are just steps away from the River Thames, and a short walk to major London landmarks such as Buckingham Palace.
Its a huge hotel with just over 1200 rooms I think, which is crazy big for a hotel in London, and it is a very cool building, almost circular with very modern design.
We are lucky enough to know the owner of the Park Plaza Hotels Europe, so the bonus is that we are always treated so well, and lucky enough to stay for free at times. With all that said, if you read the Trip Advisor reviews, its seems like this hotel is a big hit with most people that stay here.
There is a super modern lobby and some nice dining options including Brasserie Joël (our Favourite) the cool Ichi Sushi Restaurant and Sashimi Bar.
The 1WB Patisserie and Lounge, which is a great place to chill for afternoon tea, or relax before and after dinner, there is a sexy, modern smart crowd in the Primo bar at night.
The hotel also has a lovely fitness centre with 15-metre indoor swimming pool and a Mandara Spa. One thing I like is that at certain times of the day no children are allowed in the pool area, which is smart idea considering the pool isn’t big and gets crowded.
We have stayed in a number of different guest rooms and suites, The Iconic view rooms are awesome with stunning views of Big Ben and The London Eye and all rooms include large bedrooms, bathroom, kitchenette and a cool lounge with pull-out sofa bed.
The last 2 times we have stayed, we have been given the Penthouse which is simply amazing, and has 3 yes 3, large wrap around balconies, a huge lounge with an extra bed, full kitchen, computer desk, full bathroom and stunning master bedroom again with its own balcony.
It is a beast of a room, that even has special elevator access to the 12th floor.
If you are thinking about booking this hotel I also recommend taking the special VIP Lounge Package, which gives you special access to the Lounge for breakfast, snacks at lunch and also cocktails and snacks in the evening, its really worth it considering how expensive London can be for wines, beers and cocktails, so be sure to take advantage we certainly do.
In summary this is our Go to London hotel not because at times we are given it free or discounted, but because in all honesty I think its the best location in London for a holiday hotel with everything literally on your doorstep.
Highly recommended !!
